Family Tree Maker 2010

Which version of Family Tree Maker to get?

I am looking to buy Family Tree Maker 2010 for my husband, but I can’t tell if I need the Deluxe or Platinum edition, or if the standard version is sufficient. Since I don’t do this stuff much, I’m not sure if the ‘extras’ in the other editions are something that would be useful or not.

There is little to no difference in the actual program the difference is:

I am still using 2009 and wish I could get a copy of 2005 (is was so used friendly). I wouldn’t jump out and buy 2011 as it just came out and has not really been used by the public much,. the bugs have not been worked out and there will probably be a 2012 version. It seems that since 2009 there has been a new version every year.

Also you might want to go to Ancestry.com to make your purchase, if 2010 is still available it would be cheaper. Also you might have you husband try Legacy and Roots magic. there are free versions available on line.
